Actimi, RPM and Digital Healthcare Solutions

Actimi is a FHIR-based, API-first SaaS platform designed to modernize remote healthcare services and simplify the integration of health data across systems. Built with interoperability at its core, Actimi empowers both internal teams and external partners to rapidly develop, scale, and integrate digital healthcare solutions.

On top of the SaaS, Actimi develops its own suite of products, including a remote patient monitoring (RPM) application, mobile and tablet apps for patients, and real-time dashboards for healthcare professionals. These products enable hospitals, senior homes, and clinics to track patients' vital signs remotely and manage care efficiently from a centralized platform.

Throughout the project, I contributed to both patient- and developer-facing initiatives, spanning across the platform’s UX/UI design, mobile adaptation, design system creation, e-commerce setup, website redesign, and continuous UX enhancements.

My Role in the Project

As a UX/UI designer for Actimi, I was responsible for:

  • Improving the user experience and interface of the Actimi dashboard and tablet app based on user feedback and new feature requests.

  • Designing and developing the Actimi website from scratch using Framer.

  • Collaborating with product owners and the development team to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and seamless feature integration.

  • Creating visuals for pitch presentations and trade shows, as well as establishing an e-commerce presence through Shopify.

  • Adapting the tablet interface for mobile, ensuring accessibility, usability, and scalability across devices.

Design System Creation for Mobile

To support Actimi’s expansion to mobile platforms, I developed a comprehensive design system tailored for healthcare use cases. Utilizing Figma variables and tokens, I created a scalable and consistent component library, ensuring that mobile designs adhered to accessibility standards and healthcare regulations. This system allowed for faster design iterations, minimized inconsistencies, and served as a foundation for future feature additions across mobile products.

Mobile App Adaptation

Initially developed for tablets, Actimi required a mobile version to better serve its growing user base. I carefully adapted the tablet experience to smartphones, prioritizing critical health data, simplifying navigation, and utilizing mobile-native patterns like card layouts and horizontal scrolls. Special attention was given to accessibility, maintaining high contrast, larger touchpoints, and easy-to-follow flows for both elderly patients and healthcare staff.

Micro-interactions and Animations

To enhance engagement and usability across the web and app platforms, I created micro-interactions using Jitter and Lottie. These animations were strategically integrated into product flows, helping guide users through key actions such as recording vitals, receiving alerts, or booking consultations, without distracting from core medical functionalities.

Dashboard UX Improvements

I redesigned multiple dashboard components, including task detail views and E-Receipt modals, focusing on optimizing information grouping, enhancing whitespace usage, and streamlining quick actions for faster decision-making. These UX improvements resulted in faster task completion times, clearer navigation paths, and better support for critical healthcare workflows such as monitoring, prescription management, and patient communication.

By prioritizing clarity, simplicity, and actionability, we made the dashboard more intuitive for busy medical teams operating in high-pressure environments.

Framer Website Redesign and SEO Enhancement

I led the complete redesign of Actimi’s marketing website using Framer. The site was built with a CMS for easy content updates and optimized for SEO to improve visibility in a competitive healthcare market. I structured the website around clear value propositions, integrated a product configurator for RPM packages, and ensured full responsiveness across devices.

These improvements helped grow the website’s active user base from under 100 to over 6,300 users within 10 months, quadrupled organic traffic, and significantly boosted user engagement.

E-commerce Setup with Shopify

In addition to the main website, I designed and configured an e-commerce platform using Shopify, enabling Actimi to offer personalized medical device packages online. The shop experience was aligned with Actimi’s brand identity and healthcare compliance requirements, providing a seamless purchasing journey for clinics and individual patients.

Dashboard Design for RPM and EHR Solutions

I contributed to designing and optimizing both the Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) dashboards. These dashboards needed to balance large sets of health data with usability for medical professionals. I introduced intuitive data visualization techniques, streamlined task assignment flows, and simplified patient monitoring processes, making the system efficient for doctors and nurses managing multiple patients simultaneously.
